Five barracks, then the buyback

Lycan and Kez break five of Liquid's six barracks between 40:40 and 41:12. The bottom melee barracks still stands, so there are no megacreeps. At 41:07 Wisper's Timbersaw buys back and kills Hoodwink and Lycan. tOfu's Witch Doctor kills Kez at 41:40.

CoachMistake.

Your lead peaked at 21,863 with your two cores alone in Liquid's base. Take the last barracks as five, or back off when their carry buys back.

Five buybacks to none

The fight at 44:20 ends four deaths each. Four Liquid heroes buy back between 44:42 and 44:56, and Spirit don't buy back once all game. By 45:07 only Larl's Ember Spirit is alive, and the Ancient falls at 46:33.

CoachTurning point.

You were still 6,754 ahead at minute 46. Before a fight this late, count buybacks on both sides. Liquid had theirs ready. You never used one.

What a coachingmoment looks like

Every position plays a different game, so the coach looks for different things. Pick a role.

Example
23:40 · Death

You died in the Dire jungle

Juggernaut · position 1
  • Vision
You walked in without a ward. The enemy saw you for 9 seconds first.
  • Smoke
Three enemies came out of a smoke 600 units away.
  • Teammates
The closest one was 2,100 units away, too far to help.
  • Escape
Your Black King Bar was on cooldown.
VerdictPreventable.

Next time: farm the Radiant side until your BKB is back, or wait for a ward first.

Confidence: high.Everything above comes straight from the replay.

Could you haveseen it coming?

For every death, the coach looks at what you could have known at that moment: what your wards showed on the minimap, the smokes and spells you could have heard, and what you had ready. Then it tells you if the death was preventable.

What the coach checks for every death
  • Your minimap

What your team's wards showed, second by second, and whether the enemy was on your minimap before they reached you.

  • Smokes you could hear

Enemy smokes used close enough to hear, and how many seconds you had to react.

  • Spells and teleports

Spells cast and teleports landing near you just before the fight.

  • Missing enemies

Which enemies had left their lane, and for how long, before they found you.

  • Your escape

Which items and spells you had ready, and which were on cooldown.

  • Your teammates

Who was close enough to help, and who wasn't.

Why it'sdifferent

Stat sites show you numbers: your GPM, your KDA, a red or green bar. They don't tell you why you died at 23:40, or why your Battle Fury came ten minutes late. This coach reads the replay moment by moment, the way a coach watching over your shoulder would, and explains what happened.
